Easy setup, pop up tent, so enticing, I was lured into the purchase of a Pavillo (camping gear) series Nucamp X4 Tent by Bestway because it had an auto expandable setup. No more manually extending the fabrics and getting the rods straight and in. Reading into the key features, the tent had waterproof seams and a water resistant fabric (PU2000mm). The last number means that the fabric can withhold up to 2000mmH2O of pressure, thus it doesn't necessarily mean that there is more plastic in the fabric nor it is thicker. Then add up a mild storm like rain plus powerful wind blows, and you are doomed. Sleeping on the inside I began to feel a mild sprinkle on my face, there were little droplets of water exuding from the fabrics. The harsher the climatic conditions turned, the fatter the drops. I ended up drying the fabrics with a towel. On the other hand, not all the seams were waterproof. The one I had my head under, dripped continuously.
It was a rough night. Nevertheless, my tent was one of the ones that endured the most. A third of the camping tents collapsed on the floor, due to the wind, with their occupants inside. Others became seriously flodded or blown away. Mine barely stood up.
