Those actions uttered by health care units near the border should rather be praised than criticized. First of all, Costa Rica's borders are legally shut. Those who enter by illegal means are no more than runagates who must be prosecuted. We shan't give healthcare to them for a plethora of reasons. Public healthcare is intended for those who pay it and earned it, we shan't give those resources for free. Covid-19 tests are pretty expensive and so is treatment. If health units near the border had to dispatch irregulars, in the first place they came here for medical attention whom they don't pay. Those resources are more righteously used by Costaricans and those who pay, with their work, for the health system.
Now, suppose for a minute, one foreign entity hands us the money to treat them. Oh yes, we can have all the money on the world, but human capital, doctors are finite, their amount is limited. Who'd rather be treated, the one who has worked for it or an opportunistic squatter.
Moreover, hefty fines should be applied to all those who employ irregulars or illegally introduce them to our land. Hence, reducing or discouraging more migration.
And no, they are not being dispatched for any other thing but the menace of the virus, since where they come, coronavirus spreads effortlessly.
Forbye, some have been told to quarantine, but as renegades they desist and run free, agglomerating and spreading pest further.
They have abused the system. Such deeds shan't be allowed. Is is a matter of national security, they are condemning our economy and health. A gentle reminder is to say that raw responses have not being uttered yet, but amid exploits, solidarity runs out.
